The Harlyne J. Norris Pavilion is located directly across the street from the Norris Theatre. This multi-purpose facility serves as a meeting facility, classroom and event location. The beautiful entrance is marked by a pair of graceful Jacaranda trees and a spectacular water feature.
During events, the circular parking court in front of the Pavilion is transformed into a fabulous spot for a ceremony or cocktail reception. Flanked by the Pavilion on one side and backed by a tree-covered hill, the site is very private and quiet (especially on weekends) when you have the facility all to yourselves. There is free, covered parking just across the street.
The sunny court is often used in conjunction with the Pavilion’s foyer, a cool, inviting room with a striking black-topped mirrored bar. Skylights in the 25-foot ceiling cast interesting patterns on the walls and floor, and keep the indoor trees thriving. The two spaces compliment each other well, with an easy flow between them.
Foyer doors open into the Forum, a dramatic venue with rich, cherry-wood paneling, translucent domed chandeliers and a high black ceiling. Our technical crew can provide state-of-the-art sound and a variety of lighting schemes from the upper sound booth. An adjoining marble floored mini-foyer provides a separate and private entrance. A portable stage and dance floor is available. Other rooms include a conference room, dance studio, catering kitchen and private dressing rooms.
The Pavilion’s pièce de résistance, however, is revealed when you open the Forum doors. What you see is a sun-splashed trellised courtyard, enclosed by a vibrant green wall of trees. Flowering vines add color and a fountain trickles in one corner. Used for wedding ceremonies, food service or just a quiet place to enjoy a conversation.
